How do you usually celebrate Easter? I just like to enjoy the special day spending time with my kids and my family, eating lots of good food and indulging in some treats. ;) It’s such a fun holiday because spring is coming around, it’s beautiful outside, and everyone is just happy with springtime bliss!

Of course we love to dye eggs for Easter using this natural guide to dying eggs, but I also like to get my kids to help me make some sweet treats for the whole family to enjoy. I love the extra help in the kitchen since I’m usually preparing multiple dishes, and they love the fun treats they get to make. It’s a win-win!

There’s something for everyone in this Easter round-up – a little bit of chocolate, classic cupcakes, fun eggs, peeps, and much more! I hope you find a recipe you can make with your kids. What’s your favorite treat to make for Easter?

The holiday season is here! Who’s ready for Thanksgiving this week? We hope your getting your turkeys, stuffing, and pumpkin pies ready for a family feast. We know we are so excited to spend time with family around good food!

One of our holiday staples is pecan pie. Especially down here in Louisiana, where you can get the freshest pecans you’ll ever eat. Nothing beats cutting into a slice of sweet, sticky pecan pie… except maybe pecan pie energy bites that are actually healthy!

These energy bites are made with just a few simple ingredients you may already have on hand – which means you should make them ASAP. ;) They taste just like classic pecan pie, but are Paleo, gluten-free, grain-free, and vegan/vegetarian. They’re a great sweet snack to enjoy in a lunch box or when the 3 p.m. slump comes along. The whole family will love these pecan pie energy bites! Let us know if you try them – you won’t regret it.

Ah, Halloween. Such a fun and exciting holiday for the kids, but it can be difficult to navigate as a parent trying to feed the family healthy, nutritious foods. What’s a parent to do?

My philosophy is, let kids be kids. Sure, I will feed my kids as many vegetables and fruits and healthy proteins as I can at home, but when it comes to special occasions like birthday parties or Halloween, I let them enjoy it. I just follow up Halloween night with a super nutritious breakfast. ;)

The downside of Halloween is that it’s not just one night of candy – you’re stuck with tons of leftover candy and nothing to do with it! Not until now. Put that leftover candy to good use and make a semi-healthy treat the kids will love.

I say semi-healthy because we’re at least using a whole-wheat crust and yogurt in here. The candy is what makes it a special treat! You can use any candy you have in the house, but of course we’re partial to chocolate. I hope you and the kids enjoy this Halloween candy pizza!
