Smoothies are the perfect way to pack a ton of nutrition into a portable meal. They take about 5 minutes to make and clean up is a breeze.

This Berry Banana Smoothie is a simple combination of berries, bananas, and oats into one drinkable meal you can pack on the go or enjoy for an easy breakfast at home. Go ahead and add it to your list of kid-favorite smoothies– it’s that good!

Berry Banana Smoothie Ingredients

It doesn’t take much to whip up this healthy smoothie in your blender. Grab the ingredients below, and you’ll have a delicious breakfast in no time.

  • Old fashioned oats- for a thicker texture and extra fiber.
  • Unsweetened almond milk
  • Frozen ripe bananas
  • Frozen strawberries or raspberries
  • Ice, if not using frozen fruit.

Compared to ice, I prefer using frozen fruit for my smoothies. It blends up in a smoother consistency and texture, plus it’s a great way to put to use all those extra frozen fruits you have stashed away.

How to Prep Smoothies Ahead

Did you know smoothies are an easy meal prep idea you can make ahead? You can blend it and freeze in airtight cups for later or make your own smoothie freezer packs using the step-by-step process shown below:

  1. Prep the Smoothie Bag
Label a freezer-safe zip bag with the smoothie ingredients and the liquid ingredients that will need to be added
  2. Add the Ingredients
Place the oats, bananas, and strawberries into the zip bag, seal, and freeze for up to 2 months.
  3. Blend it Up
To blend, remove the bag from the freezer. Place the liquids in the blender, add the frozen ingredients and ice. Blend until smooth.

And easy as that, you have a few smoothie freezer packs as ready-made breakfasts and meals for the rest of the week.
