How to Make Couscous

Everything you need to know on how to make delicious couscous that’s perfectly fluffy and why this pasta makes a healthy pantry staple. 

 

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil or butter
  • 1 1/4 cup water or chicken/vegetable broth 
  • Salt, (omit if using chicken broth)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup dry Moroccan couscous

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the olive oil, water/broth, salt, if using, and seasonings. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. 
  2. Add the couscous, stir, and turn off the heat. Cover with lid and rest for 5 minutes. 
  3. Once the liquid is absorbed, remove the lid, and use a fork to fluff the couscous. Serve immediately.
