Triple Decker Sandwich with Turkey and Hard Boiled Egg

Pure nutrition and goodness inside delicious soft bread: this is a mouthwatering lunch you can assemble easily in 5 minutes with basic ingredients!

Turkey and hard-boiled eggs come together for a filling and protein-rich triple-decker sandwich that satisfies teens’ big appetites. Little bellies can also enjoy it: make this a classic sandwich with 2 slices, and everyone will devour this lunch! Yes, you can prep one for you too, and pack it for work.

Just grab what you have on hand and lunch is solved! I love this turkey sandwich on seeded bread slices, rye, or traditional sandwich bread. This time, I pair this sandwich with the mild flavor of American cheese, but it also goes great with Swiss, Cheddar, or your favorite sliced cheese.

What is in Turkey Hard Boiled Egg Sandwich

This healthy turkey hard-boiled egg sandwich keeps you full for hours and all you need is simple staples you already have on the fridge:

This sandwich includes:

  • Bread: seeded bread slices, rye, or traditional sandwich bread.
  • Mayonnaise and mustard: optional for spreading. You can swap them for hummus.
  • Deli turkey: any kind of deli turkey you have on hand.
  • Cheese: I used American cheese for this sandwich, but any other sliced cheese, like Swiss, Cheddar, or Colby Jack, goes great!
  • Hard-boiled eggs: for a rich-protein lunch.
  • Lettuce leaves: adds fiber and freshness.

You’ll find the measurements in the recipe card below.

How to Pack Turkey Hard-Boiled Egg Sandwich for Lunch

Follow these tips for packing this epic triple-decker sandwich correctly, and it will stay intact until lunchtime.

Check the step-by-step:

  1. Spread
If making this a triple-decker, spread the mayonnaise and mustard on the outer two bread slices.
  2. Assemble the sandwich
Top the mayonnaise side with lettuce, turkey, hard-boiled egg slices and half of a cheese slice. Top with the third sandwich bread slice, and continue to layer with more lettuce, turkey, egg, cheese, and close the sandwich with the final bread slice. If not making this a triple decker, simply layer the lettuce, turkey, egg, and sliced cheese between the two bread slices.
  3. Add more nutrition
If packing this sandwich for lunch, serve it with fresh fruit and veggies or chips, if desired.
  4. Refrigerate
Refrigerate until ready to pack inside a lunch bag, with or without an ice pack.

Tips for packing sandwich lunches like a pro

Pack perfect sandwich lunches every time by following these tips:

Save time
Cook hard-boiled eggs in batches to add to your favorite lunches, like salads, sandwiches, and bento boxes. Hard-boiled eggs are a great source of protein and make any meal more satisfying!

Prevent bread from getting soggy
Lettuce and cheese are not only a healthy addition to this turkey sandwich but also a barrier to preventing the bread from absorbing other ingredients’ humidity. Add every layer in order, and the sandwich will stay perfect for hours.

Use the right container
When packing this sandwich in one container or a compartment of the lunchbox, be sure it’s sandwich-sized. Otherwise, the layers will move around and, by lunchtime, it won’t look as good. Zip bags are not a good idea either for packing sandwiches!

Add more nutrition
Make this sandwich lunch even more nutritious by adding veggies, fruits or chips. Kids will love to open the lunchbox and find homemade Doritos and cheese crackers! For sweet tooth, these Banana Chips and these Fruit Cups are a winner!
