Below, you’ll learn how to pack this healthy Greek chicken lunch for school so it stays fresh for hours.

Greek Chicken Lunch Box
Do you know how I build epic bento box lunches that take no time and my kids devour? Easier than you think! I open the fridge and see proteins, veggies, and fruits raising their hands, trying to be picked for an amazing lunch like this Greek Chicken Bento Box!
Well, maybe the ingredients don’t raise their hands, but trust me, when you have real and wholesome staples in the fridge and pantry, making a healthy school lunch is super simple. This one includes chicken leftovers -you always want to have them around- veggies, pita chips, and Tzatziki sauce.
You can make Tzatziki sauce at home or buy it at the store. It’s fresh, delicious, and a healthy dip your kid will enjoy eating. The more fun it is to eat the lunch box, the emptier it will come back home!

What goes in Greek Chicken School Lunch
Build a balanced lunch box that will come back empty by packing these ingredients:
- Cooked chicken: use any chicken leftovers to build this high-protein bento and other school lunches with chicken.
- Cucumber slices: a fresh addition that pairs great with the Greek sauce.
- Cherry tomatoes: or any tomatoes you have around.
- Pita: for dipping! You can swap it for whole-grain crackers, pretzel chips, or your kid’s favorite crackers.
- Tzatziki sauce: buy it in bulk, in single packs, or make it. It’s a high in protein dip that’s delish!
How to Pack Greek Chicken Bento for School
This Greek Chicken Bento lunchbox comes together in 5 minutes. It’s so good that you’ll want to pack one extra for you! Check how I pack this lunch:
- Pack the chicken
First, you slice the cooked chicken breast and place it inside the main compartment of the lunch container. - Add veggies
Place the cucumber slices and the cherry tomatoes in another compartment or with the sliced chicken. Since chicken and veggies are wet ingredients, they can be packed together. - Place pita separated
Store the pita wedges or crackers in another compartment. You want to pack them separately to keep them from getting soggy. - Pack the sauce
Now, fill a small lidded container with tzatziki sauce or add a single-serve tzatziki sauce to the lunchbox. - Refrigerate
Store this lunch in the fridge before placing it inside an insulated lunch bag. Ice packs are optional.

Tips for Packing School Lunches like a pro
You can build an appealing Greek chicken school lunch every time by following these packing tips:
Separate wet from dry
For the sake of crunchiness, pack wet ingredients (chicken, veggies, and fruits) separated from dry ingredients (crackers, pita chips, etc), so everything remains fresh and crispy.
Add more nutrition
For bigger appetites, you can also pack something extra! A hard-boiled egg, olives, sliced fruit, berries, cubed cheese, bacon bits, or your favorite school lunch sides. Just pack them following the "wet separated from dry" rule, and you can't go wrong!
Swap veggies
No cucumber or tomato around? Pack this bento box with other veggies you have in the kitchen: snap peas, baby carrots, bell pepper strips, celery, etc.
Swap the sauce
Tzatziki sauce is what mostly makes this bento box a Greek-inspired lunch. If you run out of it, hummus makes a great swap to enjoy Mediterranean flavors as I do in this Chicken and Hummus Bistro Box!
