Cold Pizza for School Lunch
If kids can devour a slice of cold pizza straight out of the fridge, why not pack it right for school lunch? It made sense to me years ago when we had pizza for dinner in the middle of the week, and my kid wanted to eat the next morning before school, so that’s what I’ve been doing since!
Cold pizza packed inside a lunch box will eventually be at room temperature when your kid opens the lunch box, so don’t worry! It’s the perfect no-cook lunch idea that you can grab and go in the morning since it can be packed the night before. Got lots of leftovers? How to Pack Pizza for Lunch at School
Pizza for lunch is the perfect quick school lunch idea kids love. Here is how to pack it and keep it fresh for later:
- Pack the pizza cold
Place the pizza slice or slices inside a lunch container. No need to warm! Warming up the pizza will only make it soggy and chewy at lunch. - Add sides
Any healthy sides for lunch should be packed in a separate compartment or container, away from the pizza. - Pack it for school
Refrigerate the lunch container with the pizza and any sides if packing it ahead or place them inside a lunch bag.
Pizza does not need an ice pack, but some sides you pack for school might need an ice pack inside the lunch bag to keep them fresh!
