Making your own cinnamon raisin fruit leather at home is simple and since they don't have any added sugar, they are a fantastic choice as a natural fun snack!

Homemade Fruit Leather
I’m obsessed with cinnamon raisin everything. Since I’m also obsessed with healthy snacks, I had to make cinnamon raisin leather fruit. After years packing strawberry fruit leather, it was time to try another epic flavor combo!
This fruit leather is way cheaper than the pre-packaged and much healthier. You have to soak your raisins first to plump them up, but I promise the heavenly smell in your kitchen will make the extra step worthwhile.
These fruit roll-ups are the perfect healthy snack to send inside the lunch box. The girl loved them. She said they peeled like the bagged kind and tasted naturally sweet. Score! A healthy snack that looks like the junk the other kids are eating made fresh in my kitchen-and yours too, of course!
Ingredients
Homemade cinnamon raisin fruit leather is made with real ingredients, actually, just three basic ingredients + water! Simple, right? Here are the details and possible swaps:
- Raisins: I used golden raisins, but you can also use standard sun-dried raisins.
- Pear: juicy apples also work!
- Water: to plump up the raisins.
- Cinnamon: irresistible flavor for this fruit leather!
How to Make Cinnamon Fruit Leather
Making cinnamon raisin fruit leather at home requires baking, but nothing complicated. The only baking I attempt is bread-making and those semi-fool-proof recipes that come out delicious no matter what, like my overnight whole wheat cinnamon rolls. So check out the easy steps for this recipe:
- Prep the fruit
Plump up the raisins by adding boiling water to a bowl. Let the fruit (raisins and pear) sit for 20 minutes. Remove most of the water, add cinnamon, and mix. - Blend
Blend the fruit-cinnamon mix in the blender or food processor until you get a paste or thick puree. - Prep the oven
Preheat the oven and line two cookie sheets with parchment paper. Make sure you use parchment paper and not wax paper. Wax paper will melt and your paste will never dry up! - Bake
Spread the mixture onto the lined cookie sheets and bake. After 2.5 hours, check every 15-20 minutes. Fruit leather is done when it peels away easily from the parchment and has become dehydrated. - Roll up!
Allow the fruit leather to cool down before slicing it into strips with scissors.
More Lunchbox Add-Ons
Want to make the lunchbox tastier without sacrificing nutrition? Pack a healthy snack and see the lunchbox come back empty! Some of my kids’ favorites are baked banana chips, cinnamon sugar pretzel bites, and peanut butter granola bars. Delicious and packed with good-for-you ingredients!
Cinnamon Raisin Fruit Leather

Ingredients
- 2 cups golden or brown raisins
- 1 small pear, peeled and cut into pieces
- 2 cups of water
- 3 teaspoons cinnamon
Instructions
Prep the fruit:
- Bring 2 cups of water to boil.
- Meantime, place raisins and diced pear inside a large bowl.
- Once water boils, pour it inside the bowl. With a fork, mix ingredients around and wait 20 minutes for raisins to plump up.
- Using a 1-cup measuring cup, remove ¾ cup of liquid. Add cinnamon and mix ingredients around.
Blend:
- Carefully pour cinnamon-plumped fruit and liquid inside a blender or food processor and blend well until it becomes a paste or thick puree.
Prep the oven:
- Preheat the oven to 200F and line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
Spread:
- Pour half the mixture onto the lined cookie sheet. Spread it thinly on first sheet with the back of a spoon. You might need to add more to cover the entire baking sheet. Less is more here. Pour remaining mixture onto a second sheet.
Bake:
- Bake in mid to lower parts of your oven for 2.5-3 hours. After 2.5 hours check every 15-20 minutes. This is one recipe that is ok to open up the oven to check for doneness. You are looking for the fruit to peel away easily from the parchment and has become dehydrated. Oven temperatures and cooking times will vary, so keep an eye on these after 2.5 hours.
Cut into strips:
- When done, remove from oven and allow to cool. Using scissors cut into 1″ strips across your pan. It will be sticky. Roll them up and store in an air tight container for up to 2 weeks (if they last that long).
