Use your favorite chicken nuggets, homemade or frozen, to make a delicious lunch and learn how to keep the wrap fresh for hours at school.

Lunch Wrap with Chicken Nuggets
My kids never get tired of chicken nuggets and they’d eat them daily if I let them. Sometimes, when I make extras at dinner and have some leftovers, I make this lunch wrap with chicken nuggets, a crispy chicken wrap, or this chicken strip salad.
Those are all lunch ideas that take a kid-favorite ingredient and yield something nutritious. Today, I used my homemade chicken nuggets recipe but you can use frozen nuggets or veggie nuggets.
Ingredients
Specific measurements are in the recipe card below, but making this chicken nugget wrap takes just minutes with these simple items:
- Tortilla: large enough to hold all the ingredients so that they don’t fall out.
- Lettuce leaves: this will help prevent the wrap from getting soggy and add nutrition. win!
- Tomato: (optional) adds extra color and flavor.
- Cooked chicken nuggets: I add them straight from the fridge when they’re leftover from dinner and they’ll be at room temperature by lunch.
- Ranch dressing: irresistible! Use homemade or store-bought. BBQ or honey mustard are also kid favs.
How to Make a Chicken Nugget Wrap
Making lunch wraps is easy and perfect for enjoying right away or packing for a school lunch later! A few tips to keep them fresh when packed for school:
- Prep
Cook the nuggets and let them cool completely if you’re packing the wrap for school. This helps avoid moisture build-up, which can make the wrap soggy. You can add them warm if you’re eating it right away. - Assemble wrap
Place the lettuce on top of the tortilla, before the tomato slices and the nuggets. The lettuce acts as a barrier, keeping the tortilla from soaking up moisture from the tomatoes and the dressing. - Wrap it snugly!
Fold the sides and roll it tightly while tucking the ingredients in as you roll. - Pack it for lunch
Cut the chicken nugget wrap in half and pack it inside the main compartment of a sturdy lunch container. Pack any fruit or veggies separately, along with an ice pack if necessary.

Hot or Cold
If you’re planning to eat the wrap right away, you can reheat the chicken nuggets in the microwave for about a minute, in the oven at 350F for 8-10 minutes, or the air fryer at 350F for 6 minutes for that crispy nugget texture.
If you’re packing it for school, make the wrap with leftover nuggets, cold from the fridge, or let them cool down completely.
Keeping the Chicken Nugget Wrap Fresh for Lunch
I’ve made hundreds of wraps over the years, and here are my best tips to keep this chicken nugget wrap amazing until lunchtime rolls around:
Prevent Sogginess
Pack fruits and veggies in separate containers, not in the same compartment as the wrap. This way, everything stays fresh and crunchy, and your sandwich or wrap won't get mushy.
Keep It Fresh
Keep wraps and sandwiches refrigerated until ready to pack them in an insulated lunch bag with an ice pack. This will help regulate the temperature and keep it safe to eat even if lunchtime is hours away.
Pack Dressings Separately
Dressings and condiments take lunch to the next level but they can also make a soggy mess if you add too much. Pack them in a small leak-proof container and drizzle it at lunch.
Avoid Soggy Wraps
Cutting your wrap in half just before putting it in the lunch bag helps keep the filling inside and stops the wrap from getting soggy, especially if the container is bigger than the wrap itself.

Sides for Lunch Wraps
Bulk up and add nutrition to this lunch by adding healthy sides like homemade zucchini chips or apple chips, which add the perfect amount of crunch kids love. Other favorites are oatmeal raisin granola bars, which disappear fast!
Chicken Nugget Wrap

Ingredients
- 1 large flour tortilla
- 2 green lettuce leaves
- 2 slices tomato, optional
- 4-6 chicken nuggets, cooked
- 1 tablespoon Ranch dressing
Instructions
Prep:
- Reheat the chicken nuggets if you're going to eat the wrap right away. In the microwave for about a minute, in the oven at 350F for 8-10 minutes, or the air fryer at 350F for 6 minutes. This will give you crispy nuggets to use in the wrap. Skip this step if you're making this wrap for school, they'll be enjoyed at room temperature.
Assemble the wrap:
- Place the tortilla on a flat surface. Place the lettuce leaves in the center of the tortilla and the tomato slices on top. Arrange the cooked chicken nuggets on top of the tomatoes (or the lettuce) and drizzle with a little Ranch dressing.
- Tip: go light on the dressing if you’re packing this for school to prevent a soggy wrap. You can always pack a little extra dressing in a small lidded container for later.
- Fold the sides in, fold the back over the filling, and roll tightly. Slice it in half and serve.
Pack it for lunch:
- Place the chicken wrap inside the main compartment of a lunchbox. Add healthy sides, like fresh fruit and veggies in separate compartments to complete the lunch.
- Cover with the lid and refrigerate until ready to pack inside a lunch bag with or without an ice pack.
