Below, you’ll learn all my tips for making an epic Italian Sandwich Wrap and how to keep it fresh.

Tortilla Sandwich Wraps
Big deli sandwiches are amazing-until half of it ends up on your plate (or lap). I've been there more times than I'd like to admit. Enter: tortilla sandwich wraps! All the epic flavors you crave, but conveniently rolled up in a soft, easy-to-eat tortilla!
The best part? Sandwich wraps come together in 5 minutes flat! Last week, I turned leftovers into a BBQ chicken wrap and BLT wrap for a fraction of what trendy restaurants charge. My teens are obsessed and I’m saving money. #Win!
What You Need
Everything you love about a classic Italian sub is in this simple wrap, minus the mess! Here’s what you’ll need:
- Tortilla: any large, soft flour tortilla.
- Deli meat: I like to use a mix of salami, pepperoni, and ham for that classic italian deli sandwich taste.
- Cheese: my go-to varieties for this wrap are provalone and mozzarella, but my youngest prefers cheddar, so don’t be afraid to use your favorite.
- Lettuce: crisp romaine or green leaf lettuce gives it crunch without wilting too quickly.
- Tomatoes: sliced thinly.
- Mayo: for a creamy, tangy flavor. You could also use a drizzle of Italian dressing or a swipe of pesto to make this wrap even more next-level!

How to Make an Italian Sandwich Wrap
This wrap isn't just easy to make, here's how to do it right so it doesn’t fall apart mid-bite:
- Layer ingredients
Lay your tortilla out flat and start by spreading on a thin layer of mayo to help the lettuce stick in place. Then cover the tortilla with the lettuce leaves. This creates a moisture barrier to keep the wrap from getting soggy. Stack on the Italian meats, cheese, and veggies evenly so you get the perfect bite every time. - Wrap it
Fold in the sides first, then roll it up tightly from the bottom. A snug wrap keeps everything in place and prevents the filling from spilling out. - Serve
Place the wrap on a plate or cutting board, carefully slice it in half and enjoy!
Keep Your Wrap From Falling Apart
A wrap that holds it shape is all about the roll. Don’t overstuff it (I know it’s tempting) and if the tortilla feels stiff, you can warm it up slightly to make it more flexible. Fold in the sides, then roll it up nice and snug burrito style, tucking in any loose ingredients as you go!

How to Pack a Sandwich Wrap for Lunch
With the right packing tips, your wrap will stay fresh for hours for school lunches! Layering is key, so keep wet ingredients in the center and use drier ones like lettuce or cheese as a moisture barrier to protect the tortilla from getting soggy. Pack it in a hard, lunch container to avoid squishing, and add an ice pack in your lunch bag to keep everything cool.
