Easy Egg Salad Wrap
These egg salad wraps are a great option to pack into a teen’s lunchbox and taste better than the usual option thanks to my mayo-free egg salad.
While it’s made with Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise, this egg salad still has a great creamy flavor you can enjoy with crackers, in a sandwich, or roll into a tortilla.

What’s in an Egg Salad Wrap
Healthy wrap ideas like this one are a perfect vessel to fill with veggies and lean proteins like this homemade egg salad. I keep this recipe simple, but you can add your favorite toppings and fillings to make it all your own.
Here’s what you’ll need to make this easy lunch happen:
- Mayo-free egg salad: 1 batch of this mayo-free egg salad is plenty for 4 wraps.
- Burrito-size tortillas: use regular tortillas or gluten-free tortillas.
- Toppings: this wrap is made with mixed salad greens and chopped tomatoes.
- Something crunchy: crackers, baked chips, or banana chips.
- Fruit: this lunch uses blueberries, but you swap them for your favorite berry or fruit.

More Tips for Packing Egg Salad Wrap
Follow these tips and the wrap will stay fresh and appealing for many hours:
Keep the wrap from getting soggy
Layer your tomatoes away from the wrap. Since tomatoes are quite watery, it’s better to keep them separate from the tortilla.
Separate wet from dry ingredients
Place the wrap in the main compartment of the lunchbox and keep “wet” ingredients (like fruits and veggies) in a separate compartment so everything stays intact hours later.
Keep it fresh
If you make this egg salad wrap for school lunch ahead, the tortilla could dry out. To prevent this, cover the tortilla with a damp paper towel and refrigerate, especially if you’re using gluten-free tortillas since they tend to dry out quicker than traditional flour tortillas.
Use a firm container
To keep the wrap from being flattened or falling apart, pack the wrap in a sturdy lunch container (instead of a zip bag). Place it inside the main compartment, whole or sliced in half, where there’s little to no room for it to move around. Here are my top picks for school lunch boxes.
Keep it chilled
Pack this egg salad wrap inside an insulated lunch bag and use an ice pack to keep the temperature inside the lunch bag cool.
Add more nutrition
You can build an even more satisfying meal by packing this wrap along with tasty school lunch sides, like fruit, and veggies, these No-Bake Chocolate Energy Balls, or a healthy dessert. Remember to pack them separately from the wrap!
