Turn leftover or frozen chicken nuggets into a chicken nugget wrap that’s easy to pack for school. I’ll show you how to layer it so the tortilla doesn’t get soggy and everything stays fresh until lunchtime.

How to Make a Chicken Nugget Wrap
If you’re making this for school, the biggest difference is starting with completely cooled chicken nuggets. Warm nuggets create steam, and that moisture gets trapped inside the tortilla.
- Cool the nuggets
Use leftover nuggets straight from the refrigerator, or cook frozen nuggets and let them cool completely before making the wrap. If you’re eating it immediately, go ahead and use them hot. - Layer
Place lettuce over the tortilla, followed by tomato and chicken nuggets. The lettuce helps keep the tomato and other moist ingredients away from the tortilla. - Roll
Fold in the sides and roll the wrap tightly, tucking the ingredients in as you go. - Pack for lunch
Place the wrap snugly in a sturdy lunch container and keep any juicy fruit or vegetables in another compartment. If you’re packing Ranch or another sauce, I prefer adding it at lunchtime rather than inside the wrap.

Laura’s School Lunch Packing Tips
Yes. Leftover cooked chicken nuggets can be used cold from the refrigerator, which actually makes packing this lunch easier. There’s no need to warm them first when they’re going into a cold lunchbox.
Let cooked nuggets cool before assembling the wrap and put the lettuce against the tortilla before adding tomato. I also recommend packing Ranch, BBQ sauce, or honey mustard separately if your kid likes a lot of sauce.
I usually wait until I’m packing the lunch to cut it. Once sliced, place the two halves snugly in the container so they don’t move around and lose their filling.
Instead of adding a lot of Ranch directly to the tortilla, pack dressing in a small leak-proof container. Kids can drizzle or dip at lunchtime without making the wrap soggy beforehand.
Refrigerate the wrap until it’s time to leave and pack it in an insulated lunch bag with an ice pack. Keep wet sides, especially cut fruit, in their own compartment.

Chicken Nugget Wrap

Ingredients
- 1 large flour tortilla
- 2 green lettuce leaves
- 2 slices tomato, optional
- 4-6 chicken nuggets, cooked
- 1 tablespoon Ranch dressing
Instructions
Prep:
- Cook the chicken nuggets, if needed, and allow them to cool before making the wrap for a packed lunch. If eating the wrap immediately, you can add them to the wrap warm.
Assemble:
- Place the lettuce over the tortilla and top with tomato, chicken nuggets, and a small amount of dressing.
- Tip: go light on the dressing if you're packing this for school to prevent a soggy wrap. You can always pack a little extra dressing in a small lidded container for later.
- Fold the sides in, fold the back over the filling, and roll tightly. Slice it in half and serve.
Pack it for lunch:
- Place the wrap in a lunch container and refrigerate until ready to pack. Add sides and pack the lunch in a lunch bag with an ice pack if needed.
