Turn leftover cooked chicken into this BBQ chicken wrap for an easy, filling lunch that takes just 5 minutes. Here, you’ll learn how to make it with any cooked chicken and pack it so the tortilla stays fresh until lunchtime.

Packing It for Lunch
- Make the BBQ chicken filling
Chop or shred the cooked chicken into bite-size pieces and toss it with the BBQ sauce in a bowl until evenly coated. - Assemble and roll
Spread a little mayo over a tortilla (optional), add the lettuce, tomato, and BBQ chicken toward the center, fold in both sides, and roll tightly burrito-style. - Pack for school
Place the wrap snugly inside a lunch container and keep any lunch sides in separate compartments. Refrigerate until it’s time to go, and pack it inside an insulated lunch bag with an ice pack.

Laura’s School Lunch Packing Tips
Start with cooked chicken. It can be rotisserie chicken, grilled chicken breasts, shredded chicken for salad, or even store-bought chicken salad. For this recipe, chop or shred the chicken into bite-size pieces before tossing it with BBQ sauce.
Don’t use more BBQ sauce or mayo than you need. If you want extra sauce, pack it on the side. If you like lettuce, place it against the tortilla before adding the tomato and BBQ chicken; it creates a barrier that helps protect the tortilla from moisture.
Yes. Assemble the wrap, roll it tightly, and refrigerate it in a sealed lunch container. I prefer leaving it whole overnight and slicing it in the morning so the filling stays tucked inside.
This one keeps it simple with BBQ chicken, lettuce, tomato, and optional mayo, but cheese, avocado, corn, shredded carrots, or cabbage are all easy additions. Just don’t overfill the tortilla or it will be harder to roll when you make a wrap.
