Turkey Hummus Wrap for Lunch

This is one of those lunch wraps I keep coming back to when I want a high-protein lunch with added crunch. The veggies make it feel fresh and add fiber, so it’s a healthy school lunch idea you can pack quickly. Instead of mayo, we’re using hummus in the lunch which also adds a lot of flavor.

Packing It for Lunch

  1. Assemble
Spread the hummus over the tortilla, then add the greens, shredded carrots, and turkey toward the center.
  2. Roll
Fold in the sides and roll the wrap tightly burrito-style, tucking the filling in as you go.
  3. Pack for lunch
Place the wrap inside a lunch container and keep fruit, veggies, and other healthy sides in separate compartments. Refrigerate until ready, then pack in an insulated lunch bag with an ice pack, if needed.

What kind of hummus works best?

Use whatever hummus you like. Plain or classic hummus keeps the flavor simple, while roasted red pepper, garlic, or another flavored version can change up the wrap without adding more ingredients. Store-bought is completely fine, or use my Greek hummus if you want to make it from scratch.

How do you keep the tortilla from getting soggy?

Keep wetter ingredients away from the tortilla as much as possible. The hummus goes on first, then the greens, which create a little buffer before the rest of the filling. If you add tomato or another juicy ingredient, keep it toward the center.

Can I make this wrap ahead?

Yes. Roll it tightly and refrigerate it in a sealed lunch container. I prefer to leave it whole overnight and slice it in the morning so the filling stays tucked inside and the tortilla stays fresher.

Watch How It’s Made:

Ingredients

  • 1 burrito-size tortilla or wrap
  • 2 tablespoons hummus
  • 1 cup fresh chopped arugula or salad greens
  • ¼ cup shredded carrots
  • 3 slices deli turkey

Instructions

Assemble

  • Spread the hummus over the tortilla. Add the greens, shredded carrots, and turkey toward the center. If you add wet ingredients like tomato, keep them over the greens instead of directly against the tortilla to help prevent sogginess.

Roll

  • Fold in the sides and roll tightly, burrito-style.

Pack for Lunch

  • Place the wrap inside a lunch container and keep fruit and veggies in separate compartments. Refrigerate until ready to pack inside an insulated lunch bag with an ice pack, if needed.
