Deli turkey has been a staple in my fridge for years because my teen’s favorite lunch is a turkey sandwich. Now that she wants to eat healthier, she often makes this turkey and veggie lunch wrap for school.
Simple ingredients like turkey can be turned into lots of healthy 5-minute lunches quickly. Some of my daughter’s favorites favorites include a turkey sub sandwich, which never gets boring because she can put so many things on it!
Ingredients
Let’s take a look at what you’ll need to make these easy lunch wraps happen:
- Tortilla: large flour tortillas are pliable and hold a lot of ingredients.
- Hummus: a healthier alternative for mayo.
- Deli turkey: or your favorite deli cut.
- Spinach: or chopped lettuce.
- Tomato: tastes great with the hummus and turkey.
- Something sweet: could be fruit or a couple of these snack bites

School Lunch Packing Tips for Turkey Wraps
For a delicious turkey wrap that stays fresh and appealing until lunchtime, check out these packing tips:
Use a firm container
A hard lunch container that fits the wrap snugly is the best choice to keep the wrap from getting squished inside the lunch bag. Don’t use zip bags to pack it!
Wait to slice it
Once you assemble the turkey wrap, wait until right before putting it in the lunch bag to cut it in half. This prevents the wrap from getting soggy, especially if the lunchbox is bigger than the wrap.
Layer strategically
The reason to layer hummus, spinach, tomato, and turkey in that order is that hummus holds the greens, and the greens keep the tortilla from absorbing the moisture from the tomato.
Keep it fresh
Store the wraps in the fridge until ready to pack them in an insulated lunch bag with an ice pack, keeping the wrap fresh and safe to eat by lunchtime.
