Not sure what to pack for preschool lunch? These preschool lunch ideas are made for little appetites, with easy-to-eat foods, smaller portions, and simple combinations that are quick to pack for school.
You'll find sandwiches, roll-ups, bentos, pasta, lunchables, and other preschool lunches that are easy for young kids to eat independently.

What to Include in Preschool Lunches
A preschool lunch does not need a lot of food or a complicated recipe. I'd build it in this order:
- Start with a main food. Choose something easy to hold and eat, like a small sandwich, roll-up, pasta, quesadilla, mini waffle sandwich, or lunchable-style main.
- Add a protein or filling side. Try cheese, yogurt, hummus, deli meat, eggs, or another food that helps the lunch feel more substantial.
- Add fruit or veggies. Keep portions small and cut foods into manageable pieces so they are easier for little kids to eat independently.
- Add one familiar extra. Crackers, pretzels, a small treat, or another favorite lunch side can make the lunchbox feel less overwhelming and more appealing.
- Pack only what they can realistically eat. Preschoolers often do better with smaller portions and a little variety than one large serving of anything.
